A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MYSELF
Cathy Williams, a native of Indianapolis, is an abstract expressionist painter and sculptor who weaves enigmatic stories within her mixed-media works. She has been a creative her entire life and her works have been displayed in a myriad of shows throughout Indiana.
First drawings appeared at the age of four and her interest in art was always there, although, life interfered. She enjoyed a successful career in the corporate world working for a large pharmaceutical company the majority of her adulthood.
A home studio was established when retirement beckoned. Cathy took courses at the Indianapolis Art Center where she discovered her love of mixed media and figurative arts; she’s never looked back. Currently, she is mentored by James Victore, Georgetown, Texas.
Her work has been displayed in a myriad of group shows throughout the state of Indiana and in international online galleries. She has won awards in several competitions. Her first solo exhibition was curated by the John Waldron Arts Center in Bloomington, IN, in August 2018. Her second solo exhibition is currently taking place at the Columbus Learning Center, in Columbus, IN, and will run through May 5, 2019.
Cathy lives and dreams with her husband, Michael, and their two adored English Bulldogs: Zadey Zee and Zola Maxine, in Indianapolis. Cathy likes to run, hike, laugh, garden, dream about Picasso and, always enjoys an outstanding glass of red wine.
