Cathy is described as an exuberant optimist and has been a creative all her life. She was born in Indianapolis on a blustery March day in 1950.
First drawings appeared at the age of four and her interest in art was always there until life interfered. She enjoyed a successful career in the corporate world working for a large pharmaceutical company the majority of her adulthood.
A home studio was established when retirement beckoned. Cathy immediately began painting and taking courses at the Indianapolis Art Center where she discovered her love of mixed media art; she’s never looked back. Cathy continues to study the figure under the master tuteledge of Irina Smulevitch, Carmel Arts and Education Center and is mentored by James Victore, Georgetown, Texas.
Her work has been displayed in a myriad of group shows throughout the state of Indiana and in international online galleries. She has won awards in several competitions. A solo show is slated at the Waldron Art Gallery in Bloomington, Indiana on August 3, 2018.
Cathy has been a native of Indiana her entire life and lives and dreams with her husband, Michael, and their two adored English Bulldogs: Zadey Zee and Zola Maxine in Indianapolis. Cathy likes to run, hike, laugh, garden, dream about Picasso and always enjoys an outstanding glass of red wine.
